We have helped 24 wrestlers compete in National events so far in 2014. ~ Mike Houston Manager, www.truewrestlinginsider.com
My name is Haley Augello. I have been wrestling since I was nine. When I was a sophomore in high school, I decided to retire my folkstyle days and focus on freestyle. I started wrestling because my younger brother began and would come home and want to practice the new moves he learned. Then we were close to the same weight. I instantly became interested and wanted to join. My dad let me practice with the team but was hesitant on letting me compete with the boys. After my first tournament, I was hooked. Have been hooked ever since. I have been wrestling for ten years now. I am grateful that I no longer wrestle boys and that girls wrestling is growing as a sport. I love that I can wrestle in my own division with the girls now. Wrestling boys is a little harder on the body because they eventually get stronger with age. Girls are very strong as well but throw in some flexibility and you have a whole new ball game. My friends throughout my life have been very supportive but haven’t quite understood many of the aspects of wrestling so I’ve constantly explained the rules, weight cutting, and why I am always so tired and sore. I am very blessed to be a part of the sport of wrestling. There have been MANY ups and downs, wins and losses, and smiles and tears, but I would not trade this sport for anything else. It has taken me to so many amazing places and taught me the importance of determination, perseverance, and hard work. One may think that the only goal with wrestling is to win the Olympics. That may be the ultimate goal but I have countless goals for my wrestling career along with my Olympic dream. I hope to win Pan Ams this summer and make as many world teams as I can from this point on. There really is no limit on where I want my wrestling career to go and I am very excited for the future.
I am very grateful for the help True Wrestling Insider is giving me. My goals are large and with hard work and the support of my family, friends, fans and True Wrestling Insider, I believe my goals are within my reach.
