Grant Chmilowsky- GYAITG
After losing around 100lbs The pictures that sparked the transformation
I met Grant through Facebook in the Fall of 2011. I had recently signed up and created my profile on Facebook not long before coming into contact with Grant. We initially connected because I had just had my 8th back surgery a couple weeks prior to meeting him. Grant manages a Facebook page called Get your Ass in the Gym (GYAITG) and he had just created a 30 day challenge for his fans. Grants fb page is all about getting healthy. There were two things that really captured my attention with Grant. One was that he was into wrestling. Having wrestled himself he is a big fan of wrestling and has a son that wrestles. The other thing that I found unique about Grant was his personal battle with his weight, an injury, depression and how he turned himself around and created an atmosphere of healing. Healing physically, his emotional state and his mental wellbeing while sharing how he did it on his page. People are not so willing to put themselves out there in the public eye like that and admit their faults the way Grant did, I found that sincere and very similar to what I was dealing with.
I was in a very familiar place as Grant. The laundry list of ailments we shared were eerily alike. Grant’s transformation was sparked from looking at some Halloween pictures of him and his family. Grant was shocked at how unhealthy he looked. As Grant explains it “I wept at my picture”. At that moment Grant decided to no longer live in a body and mind that was so unhealthy. Battling bloat, body aches, obese driven borderline diabetes, irritable bowel, acid reflux and a host of other problems brought on by simply unhealthy living, Grant began his journey to health. You can read Grants first-hand account on his Facebook page, link below.
Grant is extremely unselfish with his time and knowledge. Knowing him now through Facebook for 2 1/2 years his daily posts are much the same as they were when we first connected. He motivates and inspires others from morning until night. Some of his before and after pictures of fans are simply amazing and more often than not the subjects are giving Grant much credit for either getting them started on their path to healthy living or at minimum, keeping them strong and able to continue on their journey.
If you are in need of dropping a few pounds, much like most people in America, or just want to read some content from a wonderfully motivated man, then I strongly suggest you follow Grant Chmilowsky and his GYAITG page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Get-your-ass-in-the-Gym.
